There are many ways to get involved with our team. Even if you don't see
yourself in any of the categories that are listed here, we probably have a
job for you. Just like any engineering and science-related activity,
FIRST isn't just building robots. It's the entire process of building
a team and working together. That takes many people with all kinds of skills
to accomplish.
What best describes you?
Students
Without students, our team has no purpose. You are the reason we exist. As a
student, you brainstorm ideas, create a design, and then make that design a
reality. Our mentors are there to help you during this and teach you what
they know. Also, as a student, you help mentor the younger students in Lego
League, and participate in fund-raisers and community events.
To participate as a student, just come to our meetings listed on the
calendar. You can join one
or more of our task teams:
- Build Team - Manufactures the mechanical parts of the robot such as the frame, propulsion system, pneumatic system, etc.
- Electronics Team - Assembles, organizes, and maintains the electronics board for the robot.
- Programming Team - Writes and debugs the program that the robot executes during autonomous and tele-operated (human-controlled) game period.
- Media Team - Designs graphics and takes pictures/video of the team at competitions and meetings.
- Communications Team - Creates and maintains the website, email, and other communications services the team uses.
Not in our area? There are FIRST teams around the world. Visit the

Mentors
An interest in engineering and science can only get you so far in the six
week build period. That is why we need experts who work in the field to
guide the students and expand their knowledge. If you have worked or
currently work in a position where you have experience in any technical field,
you can apply to become a mentor.
Mentors can contribute to any one of the task teams mentioned in the
students section. If you are interested, you can
contact us and we can get you
the information you'll need to join the team as a mentor.

Parents
If you feel left out when your student goes to the robotics meetings, there
is more you can do. The boosters are the group of parents who help organize
the fund-raisers, trips, etc. This is an extremely important group and
parents are encouraged to participate in it. Typically, Booster meetings are
held in parallel with the team meetings. To get involved in the Boosters,
just stop at one of our meetings and talk to an advisor, mentor, or booster
and they will be able to get you the information you need. You can also
contact us.
